Altay is a world apart, a northern paradise of pine forests, clear rivers, and snow-capped mountains that feels like it belongs to Siberia. The entire region is a destination, but its crown jewel is the breathtaking Kanas Lake. Our base will be Hemu, a fairytale village of wooden cabins nestled in a quiet valley. From here, we’ll hike or ride horses to stunning viewpoints overlooking Kanas, watching its waters shift from turquoise to deep blue. Altay is where you come to breathe the crisp mountain air and immerse yourself in one of China’s most pristine and beautiful natural landscapes.
